Family from Australia falls in love with Rotorua

The Cooper family from Victoria, Australia, loved Rotorua so much they extended their stay – and they’re already planning their return visit.
Mum Lisa was the lucky winner of our three-day Rotorua Family Getaway competition so in November she packed up hubby Troy, and their children Macey and Ben, and crossed the Tasman for a fantastic family holiday.
Upon arrival in Rotorua, the Coopers were handed their all-expenses-paid itinerary and off they went.
They rode ziplines, an amphibious WWII landing craft, the Skyline Rotorua gondolas and Luge.

They explored the forest, geothermal wonders and the Buried Village of Te Wairoa, before enjoying a soak at the Polynesian Spa. On their last night, they experienced the Beauty by Night combo, which includes Mitai Māori Village and Rainbow Springs Nature Park.
“Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to really explore Rotorua,” Lisa said. “We spent a few more nights there than we thought we would, as we fell in love with both the location and the people.”
It looks like the Coopers are going to rack up more frequent flyers miles in the not-so-distant future.
“We have already began planning another trip back to Rotorua with friends as, even though we visited so many different places and tried so many new adventurous things, we realised we had only scratched the surface of Rotorua!!
“Mountain biking will definitely be on our list for when we return. It is an awesome place for a family to really have fun, relax and also exercise.
“Thank you so much and we are looking forward to returning to Rotorua very soon!!”
A big thank you to the local tourism operators who hosted the Coopers: Aura Accommodation, Buried Village of Te Wairoa, Mitai Māori Village, Polynesian Spa, Rainbow Springs Nature Park, Redwoods Treewalk, Rotorua Duck Tours, and Skyline Rotorua.
